Abstract
In the field of electronic devices, Roll-to-roll processing, also known reel-to-reel processing or R2R, is the process of creating electronic devices on a roll of flexible plastic or metal foil. The goal of this webinar is to introduce basic roll-to-roll printing processes used to manufacture arbitrary shape and decorative multicolor/semitransparent organic photovoltaics panels. In addition, roll-to-roll system integration processes to manufacture functional photovoltaic systems on flexible foils and further integrate them 3D application using roll-to-roll injection moulding.
General level topics that are included:
- R2R printing processes for flexible large area OPV manufacturing (flexography printing, gravure printing, rotary screen printing, lamination).
- R2R assembly and bonding processes towards flexible functional products including chip-on-flex and flex-on-flex interconnections processes
- R2R injection moulding process towards implementation of 3D integrated PV products and systems.
General process overview of printed decorative OPV modules/panels are presented. Several demonstrator cases are introduced for example: Autonomous active RFID tag, OPV powered IoT sensor node as well as R2R overmoulded LED wristband and overmoulded flexible sensor and radio platform (process demonstrators).
